TheSoul Publishing would like to address some recent headlines and rumors regarding our company.
TheSoul Publishing is a fast-growing digital media company that produces entertainment focused content for a global audience. Headed by the CEO & co-founders Pavel Radaev and Marat Mukhametov, who are of Russian origin, TheSoul Publishing headquarters and international management team are in Cyprus with additional offices in Europe, Russia, and the United States — as well as over one thousand amazing team members working remotely around the world.
Our popular content channels viewed across such platforms as Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram include 5-Minute Crafts, Bright Side, 7-Second Riddles, 123 Go!, Avocado Couple, Frankenfood, Slick Slime Sam, Smart Banana, and Doodland. In addition to English we produce content in 17 languages including Spanish,Portuguese, French, Russian, Arabic, Korean, Italian, German, Japanese, and Chinese. Over 90% of our global watch time happens outside of the United States.
TheSoul Publishing’s content is entertaining, fun, and amusing — however we acknowledge that, on occasion, has also been factually incorrect. This self-reflection surfaced last week when select media outlets attempted to falsely label us as a foreign propaganda machine. While this label is absolutely untrue, and honestly hurtful, these same media outlets did accurately bring to light factual mistakes in a very small portion of the videos which we created. The published videos, often presented by an animated talking banana, focused around history — specifically Russia, United States, and several additional countries. The videos were loose with facts and at times conveyed incorrect information.
Of the thousands of videos we produced in 2019 — showcasing DIY projects, crafts, puzzles, riddles, beauty tips, and even animated avocados — these historically questionable videos make up less than .001%. That being said, whether just a single video or hundreds, we take the utmost pride in getting information correct for our audience. So we have taken down the content in question and are currently reviewing our internal fact-checking process across all of our channels. In addition, we made an editorial decision to no longer post any historical focused content.
We would also like to provide further insight into our business model. Similar to other digital content creators and publishers in our industry, TheSoul Publishing has multiple ways to monetize across its social media platforms, utilizing the wide range of monetization products and solutions offered by our platform partners. For example, YouTube monetization includes programmatic ad sales via Ad-Sense, posts with paid product placement. While on Facebook, we utilize the platform’s in-stream advertising and we also monetize via advertising provided by ad networks. Having said that, we work closely with our platform partners and strictly adhere to their policies.
We’ve never worked with any government or semi-government organization of any country or produced content curated for a third-party except for advertising partners. Advertising partnerships are clearly disclosed and comply with both social media platforms and local regulations.
Lastly, the infiltration of fake foreign political advertising and propaganda across any social media platform to any country is unacceptable. Although disappointing we have to address this — to be clear, this is not what TheSoul Publishing does, did, or will ever do. TheSoul Publishing is a digital creator with the goal to entertain global audiences.
